Consulting & Studies
Application engineering offers flexibility in tailoring ideal solutions, with numerous cost and performance options. ALPINE collaborates with clients in the concept development stage, evaluating multiple options to determine the best course of action. This involves

Concept Design & Engineering

Logistics & Transport Planning
Maximizing modularity, off-site assembly and transportation of large modules to remote sites is a key competence for the success in many projects. Our team has successfully planned and executed complex and challenging transport projects for demanding world leading clients and to remote locations. The detailed planning starts already at concept design stage and goes through project phases, as listed below to ensure that efficient, safe, and cost-effective solutions are implemented.
- Delivery route (complete ocean / land transport route origin to destination).
- Degree of pre-assembly (delivery in pieces, pre-assembled modules, or full pre-assembly) .
- Ocean transport (vessel size and loading/unloading, draft requirements, acceleration forces.
- Need for trans-loading / unloading.
- Land transport restrictions and planning.
- Laydown area requirements (location, size, compaction).
- Schedule (including site shutdowns and/or interference with other operations).
- Cost estimate (including all direct and indirect costs).

Construction Management
Every construction site and project have unique characteristics and environment, which impose certain constraints and limitations on the project and equipment. ALPINE carefully identifies these issues prior to project start and addresses them appropriately in its construction planning. Some of the considerations include:
- Access to site: Transport plan during early engineering phase to identify physical constraints in accessing the site.
- Geotechnical conditions: Ground conditions are identified, especially in areas affecting equipment foundations, transport routes for arriving shipments, sub-surface installations, and laydown areas.
- Availability of labour: Access to qualified labour is secured for installation and commissioning of equipment. Generally, equipment is delivered to site, pre-assembled to the greatest practical extent to minimize site works.
- Availability of equipment: High degree of pre-assembly requires large cranes & other equipment to handle large & heavy modules or complete machines and ALPINE ensures availability of suitable equipment.
Additionally, ALPINE ensures that equipment is designed in such a way that it can be erected and maintained safely and efficiently. Constructability reviews with the client and relevant subcontractors, early in the design stage, are conducted to identify all potential
problem areas. ALPINE dispatches competent supervisors during fabrication, pre-assembly, and site installation to ensure successful project execution and completion.
